MTB-Amputee is an informal organization of amputee mountain
biking and cycling enthusiasts that was created by Victor Walther.
This site is intended to encourage and inform both amputees and
the general public in regards to prosthetic and mountain bike
innovations and modifications as well as mountain biking and cycling
skills and technique.
MTB-AMPUTEE includes pictures and information on a variety of
amputee mountain bikers and cyclists, encouraging ALL amputee
cyclists to participate regardless of age, gender, race,
nationality, ability, or disability.
The information and services provided by MTB-Amputee are free of
charge. There are no membership fees or special requirements to
participate, just a willingness to encourage, inspire, and share
information with others.
Additionally, because most prosthetic modifications and devices
used in mountain biking and cycling can be adapted and applied
towards many uses, MTB-Amputee has included special pages dedicated
to amputee motorcyclist, all terrain
vehicle, and snowmobile
enthusiasts.
Also, due to a tremendous response from non-amputee cyclists
suffering from various disabilities or recovering from injury, MTB-Amputee has included a special page titled Suggestions
From The Net.
If you or anyone you know could benefit from, or would like
to participate on this website, email your enquiries or pictures
and information to: mtb-amputee@mtb-amputee.com
Finally, MTB-Amputee warns all potential first
time amputee mountain bikers, the moment you get on a bike, whether it
be road or mountain, you are no longer an amputee, you are a
CYCLIST!
RIDE ON!
